Raoul: What’s up guys? Raoul here at Capital Rise Investments, investing in the neighborhood wholesaler. Yeah, I really like that.

So, I know it’s a little untraditional, but I wanna talk about a book that I’m reading and how it can impact you in your business and your life and real estate and investing, whatever. It’s weird ’cause I don’t have any ties to the book, I don’t make any money on it but I’m reading it. This is the second time I’m reading it. It’s really good.

It’s a book called the 5 second rule, by Mel Robbins. The premise of the book is basically how you can change your life within 5 second decisions. So, if you count down in your head, 5-4-3-2-1 and move your body, take a physical action to do something, it will empower you to do it. So, there’s science behind it. She talks about it in the book. Basically the part of your brain that is emotional and the part of your brain that is logical, I think the logical part’s in the front and the emotional in the back, something like that. Anyways, so basically, we say 5-4-3-2-1, it changes your mentality or your vision or your view of it to the front part of your brain. So, you act logically instead of emotionally. So, it’s actually really cool and I encourage you guys to try it in any stupid thing like, 5-4-3-2-1 grab this book bag. You know? Like bam. Then if I wouldn’t have done that, I probably wouldn’t have grabbed the book bag.

So, it’s pretty cool and you just start using it your life. You don’t even notice. You don’t even notice right now, but you’re making these 5 second decisions all day, every day. Send and Email … But if you really push yourself to do the things that you don’t wanna do, which is really out of your comfort zone or whatever, use this rule. I think it’s really cool.

And you could grab the book. Mel Robbins or I’m listening it to audiobook, on the Audible app or iBooks app, whatever. It’s helped me like crazy, like get things done that I don’t wanna do or get things done that are really uncomfortable for me, especially when I started talking to sellers or sending mail or going to appointments.

It’s weird to do that. Like, “Who are you? What do you want with me?” Like, “I just wanna have dinner and you’re here and talking about house.”

So, once you do that, it just gets you out of that weird, emotional state. It’s just like bam!
